The goal of the MVP 2.0 program is to identify actions that will help people who live and work in Natick better prepare for, respond to, and recover from climate-related events.
The Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) program started in 2017 under Executive Order 569. It helps Massachusetts communities identify climate risks and plan for change. Natick completed its first MVP report in 2018. MVP 2.0 builds on that work by updating priorities through community input and turning them into actions. The Town received MVP 2.0 grant funds to support this effort.
A Core Team of [1] Town staff and [2] community liaisons are leading this work. Five community liaisons were selected to be the primary voice of Natick residents, they have been tasked with engaging priority groups who are not always included in community outreach programs. The team will study climate impacts, gather community input, and develop a starter project to improve resilience.
