Johnson Office Hours

• Basic idea:  An on-site "office hours" session (@ Johnson) that allows for informal conversation with a single Select Board member.  It's designed as a 60 min session that will allow for residents to have 1:1 and 1:many, small group conversations (dependent on the total # of attendees)
• What: This is an outdoor, weather-dependent standing and/or walking conversation (ie. no formal office or desk is included)
• Who: A single Select Board member will be present (the member will be named in the days leading up to the event)
  • UPDATE: Bruce Evans (Select Board Chair) will serve as the host SB member on 10/11/25
• When: 
  • Thursday, August 14 @ 7:00-8:00PM
  • Saturday, October 11 @ 10:00-11:00AM
  • Additional dates may be booked in the future
• Where: Meet the designated Select Board member at the playground entrance (99 S. Main St.) at the scheduled date/time

Project Description

The Town of Natick is leading a multi-year effort to determine the future use of Johnson Elementary (post '21 School Committee decision to close the school).  The Johnson Elementary School officially closed school operations after the '23/'24 school year (as of June '24), after operating for 75 years as an elementary school.

Town staff is leading a 2-year+ project, alongside Select Board members.  This project will involve a number of opportunities for public engagement and, ultimately, the future use will be decided by a Select Board vote.
