Bacon Street Water Main

Contractor has sampled the new water pipe for bacteria and is awaiting test results. If the samples pass, the water main will be activated. The contractor is planning on completing the water pipe installation on Pauline Drive, then return to Bacon Street to install new water services from the new water pipe to the property lines. They anticipate the Pauline Drive water pipe work will take approximately 2-3 weeks to complete. They may start the Bacon Street water services at an earlier time if they have a second crew available.

Pauline Drive Steven Circle Water Main

Contractor has completed the temporary water service connections to each house and the town has shut down the Pauline and Steven Circle water pipe. The contractor began the water pipe replacement this week, starting in the Marion Street intersection. Tomorrow they will pave the trenches on Marion and Pauline Drive where they have installed the new water pipe.  Next week the contractor will continue to install the new water pipe, possibly heading up Steven Circle. They are installing approximately 250 linear feet per day, which translates into approximately 2 weeks to complete the water pipe installation. Then they would pressure test and disinfect the new water pipe and then install new water services.

If you experience warm water in your water service, please run the sink to allow the temperature to reduce. The black temporary water pipes will heat up under the sun and warm the water. We have hoses running along Pauline and Stevens Circle to keep fresh (cold) water running in the temporary pipes. If it does not reduce after running for a minute or two, please notify the Haley and Ward field inspector on site or call the Natick DPW.

Any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact Haley and Ward or the Natick DPW.

Bacon Street Water Main Project

The Contractor, KJS Company, has installed the Bacon Street water pipe during the week of June 15. The Contractor will pressure test and disinfect the water pipe. Contractor anticipates completing the testing next week. Once the water pipe passes the testing, the remaining work includes installing new water services form the new water pipe to a new valve at the property line. The Contractor is presently working on Pauline Drive water pipe installation. We will provide an update on when the Contractor will return to Bacon Street to install water services.

Pauline Drive Water Main Project

The Contractor completed the temporary water service installation on June 18, 2020. Due to the hot weather, which will elevated the water temperature in the temporary pipe,  please run your water until it cools off before using it. If the water temperature does not drop to normal, please contact the Haley and Ward field engineer or the Natick Water Department and they will have the Contractor flush the temporary water mains to reduce water temperature.

The Contractor will begin the water pipe replacement on Monday June 22, 2020 with excavation starting in the middle of the Marion/Pauline intersection, weather permitting. On Monday they will install the pipe from Marion street and into Pauline Drive, then move down to the end of Pauline Drive (Cul-De-Sac) and start replacement the pipe from there.  Once the pipe is installed and pipe testing completed water service replacement will begin.

Any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact Greg Eldridge, the Haley and Ward Project Manager at (978) 648-6025 or or you can contact the Natick DPW.
