The Town of Natick through its consultant, BETA Group Inc., has completed the design work associated with the North Main Street Roadway Improvements Projects. The 100% design plans have received approval by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) and the project competitively bid for construction. The construction of this project will be funded using both state and federal money through the Boston Region's Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The project (TIP Project #605034) is anticipated to have a formal construction Notice to Proceed (NTP) during the Spring of 2020. Construction is anticipated to start in late Spring of 2020 and should take approximately 3 years to complete.
The project includes two sections of North Main Street (Route 27), north and south of Route 9. The section north of Route 9 extends approximately 1 mile from the Wayland town line to Route 9/27 Shopping Plaza driveway just north of Route 9. The section south of Route 9 extends approximately 1.2 miles from North Pleasant Street to North Avenue in Natick Center. The proposed improvements will address the physical and operational deficiencies within the project limits.
