About:
Loker Park is on the site of the former Bacon School, which stood from 1903-77. In September 1981, four years after the school was torn down, the park was dedicated in honor of Albee Loker, whose son, Donald Loker, donated $20,000 toward its construction. In 2006, a private group, the Walnut Hill Neighborhood Association, raised funds to replace aging swings and other equipment with more durable play structures, including slides and climbing stations.
