20-30 Somethings! Join us as we discuss Hyperbole and a Half by Allie Brosh
Autobiographical cartoonist Allie Brosh impresses with this confessional collection of essays, adapted in part from her popular blog of the same name. Most pieces deal with Brosh’s struggle with depression, an experience rarely expressed so clearly and specifically in other media as it is here. Even those unfamiliar with trials of such a condition will find this humorous depiction enlightening. The writer frequently details her relationship with two dogs, each as dysfunctional as herself, whom she must take care of while tending to her own serious mental issues.
Join fellow readers at our summer reading round table! You can share your latest books and get some fresh ideas to add to your reading list. Refreshments will be provided.
This activity is held at the Morse Library, in the lower level community room.

Midway at 75: America’s Counterpunch- Gary Hylander talk
Thursday, July 20, at 2:30 pm free, Made possible by Eliot Center for Health and Rehabilitation.
In the aftermath of the Doolittle raid on Tokyo in April 1942, Admiral Yamamoto planned to lure the American fleet from its Hawaiian moorings and to complete the unfinished work of Pearl Harbor. Key to Yamamoto’s plan was coordination and secrecy; he had no idea, however, that American intelligence had cracked the Japanese code. At Midway, Yamamoto forces were crushed by America’s carrier fleet. Japan lost four aircraft carriers and their crews. In ten minutes the tide of war in the Pacific had shifted against Japan. Great events in our community on Thursdays Nights...it's "Natick Nights"!
From 5:00-8:00 pm, every Thursday, beginning on June 1 through July 27th, 'Natick Nights' will be showcasing the entertainment and artistry that's unique to Natick Center. Each week will have a theme and there may be street performers, a walking history tour, a performance at TCAN, a gallery opening, Walnut Hill students performing, artist demonstrations, maybe a beer or wine tasting, restaurant specials and a featured merchant each Thursday night! These are just a few of the things that we will have on Natick Nights, so come downtown and "Make a Night of It!"
We want you to be looking forward to every Thursday night as it will never be the same - the same great location - but a mix of events that changes each week!
Be sure to follow us on Facebook at Natick Center Cultural District and Twitter @natickcenter for up to date listings of each week's events.
