The Bacon Library will celebrate Halloween by presenting award-winning storyteller Davis Bates in a performance of participatory of stories and songs for adults, teens & pre-teens. Entitled Halloween Harvest, the program will include traditional and contemporary folk songs and stories from New England and around the world. Hear about spirits, shape shifters, a rainy Halloween, & true-life ghost stories. There will even be a short lesson on how to play the musical spoons.
Pete Seeger has called Davis “thoughtful, creative, human, and a fantastic storyteller.” Davis’ traditional and participatory style of telling empowers and encourages audiences of all ages to join in the fun, and to take the stories home with them to share with others.

Join us for the 6 week session to gain tools to care for loved ones with Alzheimer’s. This Evidence-Based program presented by Baypath with be part lecture with a powerpoint presentation, part discussion and interactive. Pre-registration required.
The Savvy Caregiver program originated from the Minnesota Family Workshop (MFW) which was aimed to improve outcomes for family caregivers and the persons with dementia through a multidimensional training approach provided to primary caregivers and other family members. Evidence supporting the efficacy of the Savvy Caregiver program has been well documented. Caregivers reported structuring meaningful activities for the person with dementia. This program is designed for people who are actively caring for a loved-one with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia-related illness. Focus is on building knowledge about the disease and skills needed for effective caregiving, getting support, and practicing self-care.
