    June 27, 2017, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Join us for a discussion of The summer before the war by Helen Simonson.

Summary: East Sussex, 1914. Hugh Grange is down from his medical studies, visiting relatives. His Aunt Agatha has just risked her carefully built reputation by pushing for the appointment of a woman to replace the Latin master. When Beatrice Nash arrives with one trunk and several large crates of books, it is clear she is significantly more freethinking than anyone believes a Latin teacher should be. Beatrice simply wants to be left alone to pursue her teaching and writing, but the perfect summer is about to end as this small Sussex town and its inhabitants go to war in the Balkans.

We are open every Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm. Our market is open year round. We move from the Natick common right across the street to the Common Street Church. You won't miss a bit of all the good music and you certainly won't miss any of your vendors. We will be there come rain, sunshine, or snow. The Natick Farmers Market, sponsored by the Natick Center Associates, is designed to meet the following goals: To provide fresh food products, either grown or made by local providers, to the community. To provide a marketing opportunity to farms and small food businesses in order to help sustain a thriving, local food source. To provide the community with a broad range of information about food and it's sources, and the opportunity to speak directly with those producers involved with bringing the food to market.

Each week will have a theme and there may be street performers, a walking history tour, a performance at TCAN, a gallery opening, Walnut Hill students performing, artist demonstrations, maybe a beer or wine tasting, restaurant specials and a featured merchant each Thursday night! These are just a few of the things that we will have on Natick Nights, so come downtown and "Make a Night of It!" We want you to be looking forward to every Thursday night as it will never be the same - the same great location - but a mix of events that changes each week! Be sure to follow us on Facebook at Natick Center Cultural District and Twitter @natickcenter for up to date listings of each week's events.
