WATER MAIN CLEANING AND LINING NOTICE
Biszko Corporation has started the cleaning and lining project on May 21, 2018.
IMPROVING YOUR WATER SYSTEM
Pipeline cleaning and lining involves scraping the inside of the water main to remove accumulated materials, such as manganese, followed by the application of a thin coat of cement to protect the water main from further corrosion. This work results in improved water flows in the pipeline and more efficient operation of our system. As a water customer, your benefit is the assurance that water pressure in your home or business as well as essential fire protection, will be maintained at all times.
HOW WILL THIS AFFECT YOU?
While the work is in progress, residents and businesses along the route will be provided with a temporary water supply since the water main must be taken out of service for cleaning and lining. The temporary water service will be in place for the duration of the project. The contactor will need access to your building to remove your water meter and make the necessary temporary connections to your individual service line from temporary pipelines laid alongside the sidewalks on each side of the street. This will require your water to be shut off for a short duration, 10-15 minutes, to make the connection. The Contractor will be reaching out to each house to schedule a time to make the connection. We will make every effort to ensure that your normal water service is maintained at all times. While your house is on the temporary service hose, the water temperature in the temporary hose may increase during hot days. Please run the water in your sink to flush the warm water from the hose prior to utilizing the water for consumption.
PLEASE WATCH YOUR STEP
If you live, travel or shop in the area, you will notice a number of openings in the street to allow access to the water main and to accommodate the bypass pipelines running across the intersections and driveways. All openings will be covered during the construction period. Every possible safety precaution will be taken, and all work areas will be barricaded and carefully marked to prevent injury. You can help by cautioning your family and friends to watch their step and avoid the work areas as much as possible.
TEMPORARY INCONVENIENCE – PERMANENT IMPROVEMENTS
We realize our water main cleaning project may cause some inconvenience for those who live and work in the area. We are working closely with the Natick Police Department to minimize the traffic disruptions and we will do our best to see that the construction goes smoothly.
